Briggs Norfolk LLP is pleased to announce Philip J. Takacs has joined the firm as an Associate. Philip is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Florida, and will be taking the New York bar exam in July. Prior to joining Briggs Norfolk LLP, Philip worked in a North Jersey firm where he specialized in land use and zoning law for national corporations, in addition to practicing commercial litigation and education law. He also provided a free special education seminar to the public as a member of the Special Education and Disability Law group. During law school, he interned at a law firm engaged in the defense of employers from employment and workers' compensation lawsuits. Philip attended undergraduate school at the University of South Florida, where he graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in History. He then matriculated at the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, graduating cum laude. As a community-minded individual, Philip successfully provided representation as a certified legal intern to indigent youths in delinquency and dependency matters as a member of the Juvenile Full Representation Clinic at the University of Florida. Additionally, he has studied international environmental law, water law and environmental mediation and negotiation at the University of Costa Rica Law School. He currently enjoys volunteering as a coach with Tri-Lakes Youth Lacrosse and has previously served as a volunteer coach for his high school wrestling team.
